As per Miami-Dade Health Department, tanks under residential single family (family of 4) size, tanks should be pumped out every 2-3 years to maintain properly. **Please note if this is a larger family it a may need to be pumped out yearly along with duplexes and multiplex units.


It should take between 45 minutes - 1 hour to pump out and check system. 

Please note as long as the tank is not under a driveway or extra deep or under any other place were we would need machinery to access it. 


Yes, you can use your water while we are pumping out your septic system. We ask that your not watching clothes and running dish watcher at the time because is just pouring water right in back to the tank while we are trying to empty it.


These are all signs that your tank is full and giving you signs its time for pumping before it backs up in your toilets or or bath tubs.


 We get calls all day when we have a heavy amounts of rain but this is rarely a sign of the tank is full and usually will go away after a few days. If it does go away, we recommend you to have a plumber check your stack and plumbing lines.


As long as maintained properly, and pumped out every 2-3 years they should last for many years. We have customers that have maintained their system for up to 30-40 years.


The best way to  maintain your septic system is to avoid pouring grease in your drains and have your septic tank pumped out every 2-3 years We recommend to maintain the system performance to use a bacteria treatment. 


Chapman Septic Service encourages the use of bacteria treatment to maintain your system. We sell bacteria treatment that many of our customers love, and it does help levels of bacteria in tank but does not take the place of pumping out your septic system. However, they definitely help with bad smells in pluming lines in homes.
